It Started With a Palm Coast Cleaning Company
In 1979, Mike Howes’ parents started a small cleaning company in Palm Coast and called it Jiffy. Mike was twelve years old, and like most kids in a family business, he grew up working in it. His father Donny set the standard the company still runs on: a job was not finished until it was right.
As an adult, Mike served with the Metropolitan Police Department in Maryland and later ran operations for a home technology company, but building is what stuck. He came back to Florida and to the family name, and grew Jiffy Services into a full contracting operation that has built, roofed, and remodeled homes across Flagler County and the surrounding area. He holds contractor licenses in Flagler, St. Johns, and Volusia counties, and much of his work still comes from referrals in the same neighborhoods where he lives and shops.
Today the company builds composite fiberglass pools and nothing else. Mike is on every job himself, and if something isn’t right, he’s the one who fixes it.

Concrete
Built in your yard over several months, starting with a pour that needs a month to cure. The saltwater systems most families want will slowly corrode it.
$15,000–$27,000
Maintenance over 10 years
Composite
Built in a factory as one engineered piece and set in your yard in days. About 30 percent less chlorine, and the surface never needs resurfacing.

Authorized Dealer & Installer
A Warranty Is Only as Good as the Company Behind It
Pools by Jiffy is an authorized dealer for Latham, the largest inground pool manufacturer in North America. Latham has been building pools since 1956, celebrates its 70th year in 2026, and trades publicly on the NASDAQ. That history matters when you are buying something with a limited lifetime warranty.
The Structure
Latham’s limited lifetime structural warranty covers the shell against leaking due to structural failure for as long as you own your home.
The Surface
The Crystite finish is a layered, non-porous gelcoat surface that never needs resurfacing or acid washing, and it is covered under Latham’s limited lifetime warranty.
The Yard
Latham manufactures the shell. The excavation, the setting, the plumbing, the deck, everything that happens in your yard is Mike’s responsibility. Years from now, the person who answers questions about your pool is the person who built it.

Rules of the House
The Four Rules Mike Builds By
Mike grew up working in his parents’ business, the first company to carry the Jiffy name. His father Donny ran it by four rules, and Mike has run every company he’s owned since by the same four.

Inspect What You Expect
Every stage of every job gets the owner’s eyes.
Never Cut a Corner
Done correctly, whether it’s noticeable or not.
A Fair Job for a Fair Price
One written number, honestly built.
The Customer Comes First
That rule holds even when it costs us money.
“A job isn’t finished until it’s right.” — Donny Howes
You Work With the Owner, Start to Finish
Mike builds for his neighbors. He sees them at Publix and out at the beach, and after forty-seven years in Palm Coast, most of his work comes from people who already know him or know someone he has built a pool for.
Mike Howes - Owner
Mike runs your design visit, prices the job himself, and is on site for the dig and the shell set. Every permit is pulled under his license.
Julie Schmutzler - Office Manager
Julie writes your quote and walks your financing and permit through approval. She keeps the build schedule and the county inspections on track, and registers your warranty at closeout.
You’ll Have Mike’s Number and Julie’s From the First Visit.
The people who design and price your pool are the ones who see it through.
